Radwanska rises in WTA ranking

Nineteen-year-old Polish tennis star Agnieszka Radwanska has advanced in WTA ranking from number 16 to 14.

Nineteen-year-old Polish tennis star Agnieszka Radwanska has advanced in WTA ranking from number 16 to 14.

This is her best position in rankings in her career so far.

The leader of the ranking is still Justine Henin from Belgium, ahead of Ana Ivanovic from Serbia. Russian player Svetlana Kuznetsova has advanced to the third position and is followed by her compatriot Maria Sharapova.

Second best Polish tennis player Marta Domachowska has also advanced in the ranking by seven places in comparison to last week and currently is on the 80th position.

In the WTA "Champions Race" classification Radwanska is 9th and Domachowska 43rd. Russian Sharapowa in on the lead, ahead of Ivanovic and Jankowic from Serbia.

Radwanska is still only 19 years old, comes from Krakow, southern Poland and turned professional in April 2005. (jm)
